As a kid I didn’t see myself in many characters on TV. I felt alone with my stories and perspective on the world, which is probably a huge reason why I’m a director. I make the stories that I would want to see on screen. As an adult I realized that feeling uncool or like a misfit in high school is basically a universal feeling. I wanted to create a series that younger people going through this could relate to and maybe get some guidance from.
